Your Special Event

Celebrate your wedding or special event in a timeless vintage setting with beautiful lake views! Chimney Corners is pleased to host intimate, special events during the spring and fall seasons (May through early June and after Labor Day through October; please call or e-mail the resort for available dates). We know summers up north are desirable but our hardworking staff is busily making our resort guests feel at home, as well as hosting Lodge meals on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Don’t overlook the magical qualities of spring’s fresh warmth, or vibrantly crisp fall days. Your guests requiring lodging will appreciate our reduced off season rates as well!

VENUE EVENT OPTIONS

We offer several meal variations for your particular event:

– Lodge Plated Meal (70 seats max)
– Lodge Breakfast Buffet (70 seats max)
– Cocktail & Heavy Hors d’oeuvres Party (available in our Lodge or Beach House) (75 person max)
– BBQ Picnic Buffet (either Lodge or Beach House Lawn) (100 person max)
– BDR Graduation Party

Chimney Corners Resort is well suited for smaller parties, under 100 people. Each location has specific party size requirements. Higher (or lower) numbers of guests may limit your options.

VENUE COSTS

Historic Lodge – $1000.
Add wedding ceremony chairs and pergola at another location (ie, wedding ceremony on the beach or lawn, etc) – $250.
Outdoor BBQ Picnic Buffet with setup of tables/chairs  on Lodge lawn or Beach lawn- $1000
Dinner is served in Lodge. Please keep in mind that we are a vintage resort and our bathrooms are on the second floor, accessible by stairs only. If you choose the  Beach lawn for your party, there is an $125 service fee. This charge covers the cost of moving our dining operation from the Lodge down to that location. If you choose to have an event in the Beach House, please keep in mind that there is limited parking and only one bathroom for your guests.

Weather in Northern Michigan is often erratic and unpredictable. Outdoor parties require tent rental, arrangements and cost covered by client. We recommend GJ Tent Rentals out of Traverse City as they have worked with Chimney Corners before and are familiar with how and where we set up.

EVENT OPTIONS DETAILS

Lodge Plated Meal 
(inside, 70 people)
o 2 entrée option $50 per person (select from List 1).
o 2 entrée option $60 per person (select from List 2).
o add a third entrée for $2 more per person.
o Package includes, two main course choices with starch and vegetable, soup or salad, bread, and non-alcoholic beverages. (Desserts are extra.)
o Includes white linens, silver service, white dinnerware, and all glassware.
o We require a $1500 minimum food charge.

– You may also add pre-dinner appetizers to your meal:
Standard Appetizer Selection
$6 per person
– includes cold platters of cheese, crackers, veggies, dips, and fresh fruit trays.
Specialty Hors d’oeuvres Selection
$12 per person.
– Choose 3 additional gourmet selections from list.

 

Lodge Breakfast Buffet:
(inside, 70 people )
– $28 per person.
– Includes:
o Scrambled eggs, quiche, or frittatas
o Bacon or sausage
o French toast or pancakes
o Fresh fruit
o Bagels or toast
o Selection of freshly baked muffins or rolls
o Oatmeal & Toppings
o Orange juice, coffee, and tea
– All linens, silverware, plates, cups and glassware
– We require $1000 minimum food charge.

Lodge Cocktail Party
with heavy Hors d’oeuvres
(inside, 75 people)
– $25 per person
o Includes the standard cold appetizer selection of cheese/crackers, veggies, and fruit, as well as the three upgraded hors d’oeuvres from the Hors d’oeuvres a la Carte list. We also add two sweet selections and non-alcoholic beverages (coffee, iced tea, lemonade, colas). Add Butler style serving for an additional $2 per person.
o Three hour maximum party.
o A minimum of $750 in food charges is required.
o Includes appetizer plates, CC logo cocktail napkins, non-alcoholic glassware, wine glasses (if needed) and bar setup with ice.

BBQ Picnic Buffet
(either Lodge or Beach lawn*)
(100 people max):

o Full BBQ spread (hamburgers, hotdogs, marinated chicken, BBQ ribs) including 5 cold salads (from Salads and Spreads selection) and ice cream station- $35 per person.
o Full BBQ spread (without ribs) -$30 per person.
o Includes picnic linens on tables outside, paper plates/bowls and paper napkins, plastic cups, silverware.
o We require $1500 minimum in food charges.

BDR Graduation Party
(inside BDR and deck/lawn*)
(100 people max):

o A cold cut/sandwich spread with all condiments, breads, choice of two hors d’oeuvres, choice of two salads/spreads, and one selection from dessert menu – $20 per person.
o Includes picnic linens, paper plates/bowls and paper napkins, plastic cups, silverware.
o We require $1000 minimum in food charges.

Chimney Corners does not offer wedding cakes. However we can add a dessert, or desserts starting at an additional $4 per person charge.
Note: The BBQ Picnic Buffet offers an ice cream station, and the Graduation Party includes a dessert selection.

WHAT’S INCLUDED in TOTAL COST – All set up and tear down, as well as cleaning, linens, glassware, dinnerware, silverware, bar set up with ice and your meal. This cost also covers any meetings and coordination , services and labor required by Chimney Corners Staff. We do not allow outside catering companies at Chimney Corners.

WHATS NOT INCLUDED – Alcoholic purchases. Chimney Corners has a liquor license and guests are required to purchase alcohol for their event from us and cannot bring outside liquor on premise. Chimney Corners Staff will provide a bartender for your alcohol service.
Other items/services you may need and are not provided: ministers, flowers, music (although we have satellite radio in the Lodge for dinner music), wedding cake (although small desserts can be purchased at additional cost), photography, transportation, or other services. A list of recommended vendors will be provided upon requests.
Chimney Corners requires an additional 6% sales tax and an 18% gratuity, which is added to your final bill.

SPECIAL REQUESTS – We will make every effort to honor special requests for family recipes or other items, if it is within our power. Guests are not allowed to use the Chimney Corners Resort kitchen due to health department restrictions. Certain specialty items may increase your cost.

EVENT HOURS – We have quiet time here at Chimney Corners at 11:00pm. We ask that if you have a band or DJ hired, they are wrapping up by 10:00pm. We ask that you respect our resort guests by keeping noise levels to a minimum. Chimney Corners Service Staff will not be available after this time. Any unnecessarily loud or unruly behavior may result in immediate termination of event.

LODGING – Guests are welcome to stay at Chimney Corners. All cottages rent at our regular rate and generally preference is given to those who rent for a full week. However, in the off season, a three day weekend rate is available. Reservations and deposits are arranged separately from wedding and event contracts. DEPOSIT/CONTRACT INFO – We require a deposit of the venue fee, and we have food minimums that must be met, rate dependent on event. Lodging will be determined after event is booked and returning resort family requests have been satisfied. A contract will be returned with the deposit and deposit is non-refundable 60 days out from event. If you cancel your event after a contract has been signed, a non-refundable $125 service fee will be deducted from your deposit. This contract will also include the wedding information, time, names, and the person in charge of handling wedding details/expenses. Contract should be returned with deposit as soon as possible to retain your date. We will hold the date for two weeks after contract has been mailed. Your contract will also contain information on when your final guest counts are due as well as your event balance.
